did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
Go
on a cruise
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for
next year?
Yes,
I made more of an effort to bring Brenton to all my family parties and I
took the first steps in pursuing my aspirations of becoming a counselor by
taking the GRE and applying to graduate school.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My cousin Lin. Welcome to the family,
Genesis!
4. Did anyone close to you die? Rest in Peace Auntie Didi.
5. What countries did you visit? Once to Victoria, BC, Canada. I did do a
decent amount of traveling (SF with KD in January, Chicago with Brenton &
Julian in June, SF with the ladies in August, and Washington/Alaska/Canada with
the O-Tang Clan in September)
6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? A stronger sense of
fulfillment in terms of my career.
7. What date(s) from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Jan.
14 – 16 (SF with KD), April 8 (Bought our first home), June 20 – June 24
(Chi-Town with the boys), June 21 (5 years with Brenton), July 19 – Got my
wisdom teeth out, Aug. 24 – 26 (SF with the girls), Aug. 31 – Sept. 9 (Alaskan
Cruise with my family), Oct. 1 (RIP Auntie Didi <3 1="1" 22="22" 9="9" at="at" christmas="christmas" dec.="dec." eeting="eeting" house="house" irst="irst" jgl="jgl" new="new" november="november" o:p="o:p" our="our">
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting
promotion/title change and 16% raise, finally taking the GRE.
9. What was your biggest failure? I’d have to say my biggest
failures involved not living up to my potential or being too lazy to take
action or reach out to people.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I got sick a few times.
11. What was the best thing you bought? An iPhone? The best
thing my family (brother) bought was a house for sure.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Anybody who followed
their dreams
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? The people who
committed such heinous crimes in Aurora, CO and Newtown, CT.
14. Where did most of your money go? FOOD, loans, trips
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Sadly, meeting Joseph
Gordon Levitt and getting tweeted by Nathan Adrian the USA Olympic swimmer.
16. What songs will always remind you of 2012? Gangnam Style, Call
Me Maybe, and We Are Young.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Wiser? Yes
Healthier? no
Richer? A little
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Working out, eating
healthy, reaching out to friends
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worrying, stressing
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Spent it with my
dad’s side on the 22nd and with childhood friends on the 8th
and 24th of Dec. and with Brenton’s cousins on the 2nd.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Did not watch much TV… maybe New Girl?
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last
year? Hate
is such a strong word.
26. What was the best book you read? Didn’t get to read too many books…
maybe Bossypants or Hunger Games (a series I have yet to finish).
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? One
Direction (JK LOL)
28. What did you want and get? A raise and title
change
29. What did you want and not get? A Master’s Degree
30. What was your favorite film of this year? I didn’t watch too
many films this year either lol so I’m going to skip this.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I
turned 25. I went to work. I went to Kyoto with Brenton, Alex, and my parents,
Brenton took me to Wood Spoon for lunch, then we celebrated my birthday at Café
Sanjang.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012? Comfortable… Madewell, Gap,
Forever 21, H&M?
34. What kept you sane? Faith, Family, Friends
35. Who did you miss? Everyone

Traveling
with my favorite people in the world and just being surrounded by friends and
loved ones.
2) What was your least favorite moment of the year? Losing my Auntie
3) Where were you when 2012 began? At home as always.
4) Who were you with? My parents and brother.
5) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2012? Yes
6) Do you have a new years resolution for 2013? Be healthier not just
physically but also emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
7) Did you fall in love in 2012? :)
8) If yes, do they know? I would think so.
9) You regret anything? No.
10) Did you breakup with anyone in 2012? No
11) Did you make any new friends in 2012? Sort of I guess… my
coworkers and students
12) Who are your favorite new friends? My students!
13) What was your favorite month of 2012? The
entire summer
14) Did you travel outside of the US in 2012? Does a brief stop in
Canada count?
15) Did you miss anybody in the past year? of course.
16) What was your favorite movie or show that you saw in 2012? see above!
17) What was your favorite song from 2012? Not sure but my
guiltiest pleasure would have to be Carly Rae Jepsen.
18) What was your favorite record from 2012? I
don’t know.
19) How many concerts did you see in 2012? I
didn’t see a concert this year unless you count Pixar in Concert at the Bowl
20) Did you have a favorite concert in 2012? N/A
22) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year? Yeah probably…I can’t
think of something off the top of my head.
23) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2012? i don't remember...
haha.
24) Did you treat somebody badly in 2012? Possibly
by not being inclusive enough
25) Did somebody treat you badly in 2012? Yes
26) How much money did you spend in 2012? way too much.
27) What was your proudest moment of 2012? Getting that title
change and raise
28) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2012? I’m not sure.
29) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2012 and change
something, what would it be? I wouldn’t change a thing.
30) What are your plans for 2013? Get into graduate school,
save more money, travel, find new ways to grow in faith, maintain friendships
& relationships.

Dear Future Self,
In honor of 12/12/12, I am writing this blog post to let you know I am still alive. I'm praying that I'll still be around on Dec. 21st but I will try and blog on Dec. 20th just in case.
All joking aside, I am working on my personal statements still. Who knew it was so difficult to write about yourself?
