I finally have my internet back and let me tell you, it was the hardest couple of days for me. I'm back though!
SInce I've been gone:
+ I went to a entrepreneurial leadership panel all the way in Santa Monica for my internship. I had to work the marketing table. I took side streets to get there because of all the rain and thunder that week... it freaked me out. Thankfully, the rain stopped while I drove there and while I drove home. I was there from 5 until 9:30 but I got a free Fred Segal goodie bag filled with expensive stuff including a $55 gift card to Crystallize my skin? lol yeah don't know if I'm gonna use that but I appreciate my stila lip glaze and free memoir liquide 1/4 perfume. The panelists were all pretty good too. They're the founders/CEO's of Fred Segal's STUDIO BEAUTY MIX. Inspiring individuals, to say the least.
+ I finally got through and was able to schedule a last minute interview! I felt like an American Idol hopeful who had to beg her way through to the next round. Thank you Simon for giving me a second chance to prove myself. A lot was riding on this interview including my pride because I completely embarrassed myself last week with the barrage of phone calls I made to her. Luckily, the Director sympathized with my plight and told me that I demonstrated a lot of persistence. We'll see what becomes of this but I'm just thankful I got the opportunity to show her that I'm more than just an annoying desperate job seeker. The 30 minute commute there and back wasn't too bad either.
+ I celebrated Valentine's Day early with Brenton this past Friday. Daisy Mint FTW! He also gave me a beautiful bouquet of roses & some delicious white chocolate covered strawberries as well as chocolate covered marshmallows :D YUM. Food is definitely the way to my heart. I love that guy. It's the simple things that make me happy. After that we just ended up watching the opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics.
+ Spent my entireeee Saturday at the 1st Annual LA Food Fest. Brenton's not usually early for a lot of things but he got us to food fest incredibly early... like 45 min early. I spent 20 bucks on all kinds of food. We hung out with Erwin, Frances, Jonas, Lennar and Biencess and ate tacos from Don Chow, sliders from Uncle Lau's, grilled mac & cheese sandwiches from the Grilled Cheese Truck, fries from Fry Smith, cookie sandwiches from Cool Haus, yummy desserts from the Sweets Truck, and shaved ice from the shaved ice truck. My only regrets were not being able to try LUDO's fried chicken bites and the Dogzilla dogs. Other than that, it was a very fun and filling day outdoors. Not to mention, all my cousins were practically at Food Fest. We are all foodies at heart. That night, I dragged my brother along with me to the RhymeAlong again cause a bunch of LoG people ended up going. It was fun. I'd never been to that venue before. Although Mountain Bar was more spacious, I think I prefer 72 North better. Did not go up and rap but props to emcee mayonnaise for his excellent rapping skills, courage, and awesome song choice (girls, girls girls - jay-z). Didn't stay super long cause Alex was tired and so was I. Food fest took a lot out of us.
+ Valentine's Day was spent with the other loves of my life: my family haha. We went to mass at IHM and I felt sooooo incredibly old. How else can I explain a former kindergartener being taller than me. I can't believe these kids who were in kinder when I was an 8th grader have now gone through puberty and are almost done with HS. Time flies. Had Chipotle and Zankou today for lunch and dinner. That can't be good for me. No more foodddddd. I'm stuffed.
Hope you enjoyed my recap. I have to catch up on work tomorrow but I get to start my day having brunch with Krystle Diane in LA! :) Yay!
Happy Valentine's Day friends. I love you all!
