Week 5 already.

Where has the time gone?

Aside from being week 5, this week is HEAVEN WEEK! week before Spirit Rally. CRAZY!

My planner looks like it's about to burst, not because I've written in it lately... more like because I've stuck a ton of paper/flyers/handouts/reminders in there. There is no organization to my life right now. I'm setting a goal to study EVERY SINGLE DAY this week on top of Spirit Rally practices because I have 2 midterms (one on Monday and one on Tuesday) the week after Spirit Rally.

This weekend was eventful. On Friday night, I hung out with Brenton & his family and we ate at Thai BBQ in Fullerton and then went to D&B's. I woke up early yesterday and my family came down and we headed to San Diego to visit my Lola's grave, pray, & celebrate what would've been her 100th birthday along with my uncle Tony's birthday. Most of the family was there. It was fun. I love my cousins even when they tease me. I think what I liked the most was that I was actually able to talk to two of my older cousins about life... not just the superficial "how are you?" kind of conversations. They gave me some good advice about life after college. I'm not as scared anymore. After weeks of hearing all kinds of things from alumni & family, life after college doesn't seem as bleak. I know I have a lot of opportunities waiting for me and I am definitely excited for what's to come.

As for what I'll be leaving behind... it hasn't quite HIT me yet. I've been so preoccupied with my to-do list that reminiscing about the past hasn't been my top priority. I'm sure in the weeks to come, it will happen but until it does, I'm gonna continue to make the most of my time... which is something I'm currently not doing. I am supposed to be studying at CSL lol but blogging instead. Oh well, study break!

I can't wait to look back & laugh at all the things that have bothered me this year.

P.S. It was fun catching up with Angie last night! :) Oh her stories. Oh angie lover of fish <3

P.P.S. serious post to come...

STUDY TIME!

brenton913: aight i'm gonna head out
brenton913: go read!
annanymouslizard: booooo
annanymouslizard: fine
brenton913: lol
brenton913: senioritis

at the career center, we're putting together a week-long series of workshops and events for the seniors and we've come up with a ton of names for it ranging from Peace Out Seniors to the actual theme that people picked out (which i'm not too incredibly fond of): "09, It's Your Time to Shine" LOL. my friend harry said it sounds like some H.S. prom theme that you wouldn't want to relive. anyway the whole point of sharing this is that one of the second yrs came up with a theme that i thought was pretty funny but it never made it to the final list of choices: "senioritis awareness week" and he said the marketing pitch could be giving everyone senioritis ribbons to wear. anyway, that's all. i should stop wasting time.

btw, strawberry milk tea from cha + bacon, egg & cheese croissant from le dip = a yummy brunch.

in reference to both the song & the attitude.

Day and night
I toss and turn, I keep stressing my mind, mind
I look for peace but see I don't attain
What I need for keeps this silly game we play .. play
Now look at this
Madness to magnet keeps attracting me, me
I try to run but see I'm not that fast
I think I'm first but surely finish last .. last

I feel like I have this new lease on Life. I think it's partly because of that feeling of renewal & rebirth that Easter brings. It's been an incredibly crazy past couple of weeks and I've learned things that I should've put into practice a long time ago... but it's better late than never & I am determined to make a positive change in my life for the better.

I went to confession for the first time yesterday in what felt like forever but was in actuality about a year or 2. I was hesitant to go even though I wanted to, just because I was concerned about spilling my guts to a priest that knew me. But I don't regret it at all because it brought me the sense of peace that I had been looking for this entire school year. That's where the "better late than never" comes in.

Father told me that I had a caring heart & that I was passionate. I was not expecting that. He also warned me not to apologize for everything I do wrong and instead LEARN from it. (Weird right? A priest telling me not to apologize about my sins during confession?!). When he said that, all of a sudden, everything just clicked for me. The things Brenton had been telling me about, the things that my parents had been telling me about... things I had known all along, suddenly just made SENSE. Why do I put myself in such a negative state? It's not necessary. It's okay for me to care about other people, but not to the point where I stop caring about myself, what I want, and my personal needs. It's okay to say no. It's okay to mess up. I need to brush things off instead of piling more weight onto my shoulders.

On to another point, I've been reading "Why Zebras Don't Have Ulcers", a book that I have to read for my Human Stress class... and I realized how harmful my worrying is to my health. Literally! I can become more susceptible to diseases like Diabetes by stressing about every little thing. There goes another thing I'm trying to work on... not letting things bother me so much.

If you didn't know, my dad's been a bit sick lately. Thanks for the prayers. He's doing better... but his getting sick reminded me that life's not about the insignificant worries or issues. Life's about bigger, more important things like family, friendship, faith, LOVE.

these past two weeks, i've gotten to hang out A LOT than i have the past two quarters. i'm gonna keep it up. my friendships have always been important to me and it's time for me to stop putting them on the backburner.

onto more superficial matters (LOL), i'm staying up to watch my bf on SNL! ZAC! :D i'm so watching 17 again.

speaking of boyfriend, this is cheesy but i miss him even though i saw him twice this week, which is more than usual.

andddd, aside from falling behind on homework & reading, life is GOOD. Praise Him!

thank You for Your sacrifice & Love.

praying for you all.

Happy Easter!
